College roundup: Boise State soccer grabs win in double overtime


Freshman Shannon Schueren’s goal in the 102nd minute gave the Broncos a 1-0 victory over South Dakota on Friday in Omaha, Neb. It was Schueren’s team-leading third goal of the season. Katy Oehring had the assist for Boise State (4-5), while goalie Liz Ruiz picked up her school-record tying 26th victory.
BSU VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos (7-3) swept a pair of matches against Southwestern Athletic Conference teams Arkansas Pine Bluff (25-9, 25-13, 25-14) and Texas State (25-8, 25-15, 25-4) at the Sooner Legends Nike Invitational in Norman, Okla. Brittany Reardon (11) and Breann Nesselhuf (10) led Boise State in kills in each match.
BSU MEN’S TENNIS: Scott Sears and Nathan Sereke were ousted in the round of 32 at the Midland Collegiate Invitational in Texas, and the duo also lost their doubles match.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes (8-1, 5-0) swept Oregon Tech 29-27, 25-17, 25-17 to win their 56th consecutive Cascade Conference match at home. Kylee Nawahine had 11 kills, and Danielle Montalbo added 10.
IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Vandals (4-7) were swept by No. 24 Long Beach State 25-18; 31-29 and 25-12.
WOMEN’S GOLF: Boise State beat the College of Idaho in a dual match at River Bend Golf Course 299-310. Broncos Maria Santisteban and Hayley Young shared medalist honors at 72. Baylee Borchers (73) led the Coyotes.
