Video "Gucci Gucci" has accumulated nearly 14,000,000 views on YouTube as of August 2011.Zolot was quickly signed to Columbia Records after her hit was released. While Ellen Lovelidge of Pulse praised their performance, she said "they'll smooth out the kinks in a year or so", referencing on-stage inexperience and the frequent use of the word "nigga" by White Girl Mob member V-Nasty.
Not all reviews have been positive however. Most critics tend to not like Kreayshawn's music, citing cultural appropriation as an "exploitation of black culture".[10] Bene Viera of Clutch Mag stated, "It's equally problematic that every female emcee post, and MC Lyte who has had massive mainstream success all had to sell sex. Kreayshawn, on the other hand, is able to avoid an over sexualized image because of her whiteness." .. she also carries guns and speaks of hood-acts of robbing other rappers for their chains (youtube.com)
West Coast rapper, Game, released a diss track "Uncle Otis" where he accuses Zolot of using racial slurs. He explained, "You can't be playing with that word, some people will take it serious, especially coming from someone that's [not black]. There's a lot of tragic history behind it."
Zolot sparked controversy while on UStream when she began disrespecting Rick Ross calling him fake, saying he can't rap, and teasing him for his weight. This was the not the first time she had an issue with Rick Ross. Prior to the UStream video she filmed an interview retracting her previous statements about Rick Ross during a televised freestyle, calling it a "misunderstanding". In the beginning of the UStream video you can actually hear the video of the interview, taped 6 days prior to the Ustream video. She said after watching the video, "What I actually wanted to say was....." then proceeded with her insults.
